Stephen Cooling (born June 23 1983) is an Irish football player who currently plays for Kildare County in the FAI League of Ireland First Division.

Cooling joined Kildare County for the beginning of the 2006 season. Before playing with Kildare County Cooling had spells, firstly with Raheny Utd and then with University of Memphis in the United States. At University of Memphis he was a frequent goalscorer from his central midfield position.

He quickly became an automatic selection for Manager John Ryan at Kildare County. Most notably scoring both goals when Kildare came from one goal behind against Limerick at Hogan Park to win 2 - 1. His first goal in that game was struck from over 30 yards and memorably rattled in off the cross bar. He has also a handy free kick, with his free kick against Bray in the FAI Cup winning Kildare County goal of the season 2006. Cooling was named Kildare County Senior player of the year in 2006 [http://www.kildarecountyfc.com/news/news-details.asp?NewsID=807] .

Cooling signed for Waterford United after the 2006 season and scored on his Waterford debut against Cork City on the first day of the season.

Coolings stay at Waterford was short however and he returned to Kildare County in July 2007 having made just 5 appearances and scoring a single goal for Waterford United [http://www.kildarecountyfc.com/news/news-details.asp?NewsID=899] . Cooling had an instant impact and was awarded player of the month for July of that season.
