Patrick Seale is a British journalist, author, and consultant who specialises in the
Middle East . He is a former correspondent for "The Observer ", and has interviewed many of the Middle East's most prominent leaders and personalities.Born in
Belfast ,Northern Ireland , to Christian missionary and OrientalistMorris Seale , Patrick Seale was educated atBalliol College, Oxford , and read Middle East history atSt Antony's College, Oxford . He has been honored by Oxford University with a doctorate (D. Litt) and was a Senior Associate Member of St. Antony’s College. His journalistic experience includes six years with Reuters, mainly as a financial journalist and over twelve with "The Observer " (London). He has covered the Middle East,Africa andIndia .Seale, who is based in France, is a syndicated columnist for several newspapers, including
Al-Hayat (London),Al-Ittihad (Abu Dhabi).The Daily Star (Beirut),The Saudi Gazette (Jiddah) andGulf News (Dubai). He is the author of "The Struggle for Syria" (1965; new ed. 1986), "French Revolution 1968" (1968), "Philby, the Long Road to Moscow" (1973), "The Hilton Assignment" (1973), "Asad ofSyria : The Struggle for the Middle East" (1988) and "Abu Nidal: A Gun for Hire" (1992). He also ghost-wrote "Desert Warrior', the 1995 Gulf War memoirs of Saudi prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who acts as Saudi Arabia's Assistant Defense Minister.References
