Lopwell

Lopwell is a site of natural beauty situated at the upper tidal mark on the River Tavy, 3 miles from north Plymouth and 7 miles from Tavistock, Devon.

Lopwell is a Local Nature Reserve consisting of several different habitats including mudflats, freshwater marsh, grassland, wildflower meadow, scrub-grassland and saltmarsh. The area is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and has a resident Grey seal.

Lopwell also has a camping barn, West Devon B C has decided to sell the barn Since then a local community organisation has been offering to buy it from the council but to date it has been unccesfull. WDBC has decided to go to Tender.
