Bo Lozoff is co-founder with his wife Sita Lozoff of the Human Kindness Foundation. He also co-founded the Prison-Ashram Project with Ram Dass in 1973, and continues with Sita to co-direct that project. Lozoff speaks widely on spiritual issues, including talks in prisons, public talks, sermons, and musical performances.

One program of the Human Kindness Foundation, Kindness House, helped prison parolees by providing them housing and employment. However, that program closed in 2007 amid allegations of sexual misconduct by Lozoff, according to an investigative report by Raleigh's "Independent Weekly" newspaper.
