Steve Taneyhill a former South Carolina Gamecock, 33 years old and now coaches at Chesterfield High School in
South Carolina . His sister is Debbie Taneyhill, who is the former head women's basketball coach atGeorge Mason University . Taneyhill was aquarterback for theUniversity of South Carolina from 1992 to 1995. He set a lot of still standing records. Taneyhill was also much known for his crazy antics as a quarterback. Taneyhill had a long, blonde ponytail and a bandana on while he played football. He did crazy things such as swinging an imaginary golf club after a touchdown, and once he signed the Clemson paw after a big win in Clemson. After the 1995 65-39 win at Mississippi State, a frustrated Bulldog fan yelled out, "Hey, Taneyhill! What's that on your head?" Taneyhill responded, "Your wife's panties." As a Gamecock quarterback, Taneyhill compiled 8,380 yards in total offense, completing 753 of 1,245 passes.he threw 62 touchdown passes in his career. He asks to be remembered as "That Crazy Yankee Quarterback." He still posts regularly on the sports gaming forum, www.operationsports.com, under the name "USC_QB." In 2006, he led his Chesterfield High School football team to the state championship, which led to a loss against Carvers Bay High School. The next year, Steve's team went back to the state championship and defeated Carvers Bay 13-6. He led the Chesterfield Rams to their first Championship victory over Carvers Bay. Taneyhill also coached at a small private school in Greenwood, SC called Cambridge Academy. He lead the varsity 8-man team to 3 back to back state championships, but the parents did not like his influece because he was frequently cussing out the players and cheerleaders.
