Many consider Smith's stand up comedy to be of a low standard, and he has fallen out of favor with many over his work with
Comedy Time . Fact|date=February 2008For several years, Smith made an annual tradition of offering an alternate audio commentary to television coverage of the famous
Tournament of Roses Parade . He would choose a venue on the parade route and host a live broadcast where he would describe the passing bands and floats in outrageous, humorous terms. The KROQ simulcasts of the LA-NY World Series games in 1978 were classics. The "Fraze" also hosted the little-known late night comedy show called "Rock 'N' America," in 1984 [ [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285401/ "Rock 'N' America" (1984) ] ] , helping to spread the use of the words "cheesy," and "cheese-log."Fact|date=February 2008
