Medicomp

Medicomps are special devices used by the Yautja in the fictional "Alien vs. Predator" universe. It is used as its name implies as a medical device. Medi- coming from medicine. Medicomps are used to reinvigorate injured Yautja and possibly replace damaged tissue with new tissue. Whenever a Medicomp is used it seems to heal the user as well as provide them with a surge of new energy. The way it works is a relative mystery and could be the use of powerful antibiotics and steroids to increase the rate of cell regeneration, powerful bacteria whom repair tissue damage and eat dead tissue, or perhaps a stream of sophisticated nanites. Both the second and third option would be able to perform the same action and both would require something back from the user such as nourishment from surrounding tissue. The Medicomp has only been seen used by Predators in several games and has never been seen used by humans. There is a chance that humans would experience adverse or even fatal reactions if used.

In Predator Concrete Jungle

In the in game menu of , the medicomps are shown to be small corkscrew-shaped devices. They are described as carriers of rare and fragile materials that require significant preservation to stay effective and can only be held in supplies of 3 doses by each hunter. The in game hint mentions that the fallen clan-brothers of the predator have seeded caches of items around Neopolis including medicomp supplies. The fragility of the medicomp supplies could support the possibility of bacteria, as some bacteria die upon contact with air and thus require containment.
