Paula Letang-Loblack was born in
Roseau ,Dominica and moved toCanada as a young girl.She is the first
Caribbean female in theToronto community to create, write, produce & host a French-Creole specific radio show.Now in its seventh year, Experience Creole is a voice for the French-Creole community, and uses this voice to highlight the culture, people and music of the French-Creole speaking Caribbean islands.
Letang-Loblack is a musician who plays both guitar & piano, and is a vocalist in the French-Creole music group Lévitasyon. Amongst the group's many accomplishments, Lévitasyon has, for more than 10 years brought the music of Dominica to a much wider market with numerous #1 songs, and two full length
CD s. The third CD is scheduled for release in April 2007. Additionally, Lévitasyon is the only French-Creole music group to have ever been nominated in theCanadian Urban Music Awards .In her efforts to promote Dominica she founded and chaired, in 1999, Toronto’s Creole Cultural Federation. The Federation was instrumental in giving Creole culture wide exposure while working with Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre who organized, for two consecutive years, Toronto’s own Creole Festival.
She has held the position of Public Relations Officer for the Canadian Dominica Ontario Association, and co-hosted its First Annual Dominica Independence Gala in 2004.
