Willie West Wood (born
October 1 ,1960 ) is an Americanprofessional golfer who has played on thePGA Tour and theNationwide Tour .Wood was born in
Kingsville, Texas . After an outstanding junior career, he attendedOklahoma State University inStillwater, Oklahoma and was a star member of thegolf team. In1983 , he played on theWalker Cup team; and later that same year joined the PGA Tour by being medalist in the PGA Tour qualifying tournament (Q-school).Wood has split his playing time between the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He has about two dozen top-10 finishes on the former including a win at the
1996 Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic , and about a dozen top-10 finishes on the latter. His best finish in a major championship was a T-12 atThe Masters in1997 . He is a life time member of the PGA Tour.Wood has a sister, Deanie, who was a member of the
LPGA Tour . He makes his home inEdmond, Oklahoma and is a member of the "Oak Tree Gang", a group of touring professionals who all play at Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, OK.Amateur wins
