The Country Radio Broadcasters Inc. mission statement is "We bring Country radio broadcasters from around the world together with the Country music industry for the purpose of assuring the vitality off the Country radio format. We do this by idea sharing and education through the Country Radio Seminar and regional seminars on the topics of general management, sales and programming. We also promote the growth of Country radio by granting scholarships to educational institutions to benefit people seeking degrees in broadcasting. We value professionalism within our industries and our organization and we value humanitarian activities that improve the quality of life. Our goals are to provide ideas which will help the business of Country radio to thrive, to improve professionalism through education, and to sustain the Country radio format as a dominant entertainment medium."

Since the founding of the CRB's Country Radio Seminar (originally the Country Music Survey Radio Seminar) in 1969 by Tom McEntee, editor of the Country Music Survey, the number of Country radio stations in the United States has grown from about 600 to over 2,000. Country is currently America’s dominant radio format, with about 1/5 of all commercial stations programming Country music exclusively.
