Madison spent his young adulthood in various positions in the NAACP (including as Executive Director of the Detroit NAACP).
Radio career
Madison moved on to host radio talk shows in Detroit and eventually

WWRC -AM in the early nineties, he developed a crossover appeal handling issues that included race, but were aimed at the station's multiracial audience.WOL and XM Satellite Radio
