The Stringbeans Quartet

The Stringbeans Quartet

The Stringbeans Quartet are a traditional chamber ensemble best known for their creative versatility.

Founded in 1999 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as a formal String Quartet, it wasn't long before their focus turned to original arrangements of new, modern, and popular music. Since that time, the group has appeared in an endless variety of venues and contexts, ranging from busking at Farmer's Markets and Street Performers festivals to formal performances on concert stages.

The Stringbeans have performed with and for some of Western Canada's greatest names, both musical and otherwise, including art-pop star Bryce Kulak, Alberta playwright Stewart Lemoine, Lt. Governor Lois Hole, former Prime Minister Joe Clark, folk-rock musician Brock Skywalker (Captain Tractor), and master chocolatier Bernard Callebaut.

The Stringbeans play in basic string quartet formation, with Martine DenBok on first violin, Tim Cebuliak on second violin, Robin Leicht on viola and Mark Moran on cello.
