Gerald Peary

Gerald Peary, an American film critic for the past three decades, has been a weekly film critic and columnist for the "Boston Phoenix" since 1996.

His cinema articles have appeared in many newspapers, including the "Los Angeles Times", the "Toronto Globe and Mail", the "Chicago Tribune", the "Boston Globe" and "The Real Paper".

Peary has also contributed to numerous magazines, including "Film Comment", "Cineaste", "Sight & Sound", "Positif", the "Boston Review", "Toronto Magazine" and "Maclean's".

Peary is a member of the Boston Society of Film Critics, the National Society of Film Critics and FIPRESCI (the International Film Critics Association), and he has served on critics' juries at film festivals around the world, including Berlin, Locarno, Stockholm and Thessaloniki.
