Azuchi-Momoyama period (16th century) of Japan.The Battle of Mimaomote had been led by Chosokabe commander nihongo|Hisatake Chikanobu|久武 親信 --equipped with 7,000 men-- into the province of Iyo on the Shikoku Island, in which he had attacked nihongo|Doi Kiyoyoshi/Seiryo|土居 清良, the enemy commander. Doi crossed the Mimaomote river to meet Hisatake within a fierce battle on the 21st of May,
1579 . Throughout this conflict, Hisatake was defeated and killed, resulting in the victory of Doi Kiyoyoshi.References
