George F. Rogers

George Frederick Rogers (March 19, 1887 - November 20, 1948) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.

Rogers was born in Harwood, Ontario. He immigrated to the United States in 1899. He was suprevisor of Monroe County, New York from 1934 until 1935. He served in the New York State Senate from 1937 until 1938. He was elected to Congress in 1944 and served from January 3, 1945 until January 3, 1947. He unsuccessfully ran for re-election in 1946 against Kenneth B. Keating and was defeated again by Keating in 1948. He died in Cobourg, Ontario.George had a son named George J. Rogers who died in 1994 in Rochester New York,George J. Rogers had 3 children George F, Katherine,and Jeff. 3rd Generation George F. Rogers, had 3 children John. Rogers of Hamlin, New York, Melissa (Rogers) Nowatchik, and David Rogers. Katherine had 3 children John Listar, Tamara, and Matthew, and Jeff had 3 as well. Many descendants, who still live in the Rochester area.
