Sepharad is a
Biblical placename of uncertain location.Persia n inscriptions refer to two places called "Saparda", one in Media and the other inAsia Minor : the latter may beSardes . It is only mentioned once in theBible , in theBook of Obadiah . After thePeshitta (2nd century), it was identified with theIberian Peninsula .
