Hačava (1409 "Hach, Bognerhey") ( _de. Wagnerhau; _hu. Ájfalucska) is a
village andmunicipality inKošice-okolie District in theKošice Region ofeast ern Slovakia.History
In historical records the village was first mentioned in
1409 when it was funded by German settlers driven here by a certain Master Wagner. In the XVI century it belonged to noble family Széchy. During that period, it was destroyed by Turks and suffered greatly because of the Polish-Lithuania n War. The place remained almost desert. In the 18th century someRusyn colonists contributed to repopulate the village.Geography
The village lies at an
altitude of 660metres and covers anarea of 36.918 km². It has apopulation of about 225 people.External links
