bonuses = The Prix Dollar is a Group 2 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds which are three-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 1,950 metres (approximately 1 mile 1¾ furlongs) at Longchamp Racecourse, and it takes place annually, presently in late September or early October.

First run in 1905, the race is named in honour of the racehorse Dollar (1860–1886), an important stallion in the establishment of thoroughbred breeding in France. Initially the Prix Dollar was contested over 3,500 metres, and it took place at Longchamp in the autumn. In 1909 the distance was cut to 2,200 metres, and the event was moved to the springtime. The race was abandoned from 1915 to 1918 because of World War I.

The 1934 running was titled the Prix du Centenaire. This was to celebrate the centenary of the "Société d'Encouragement", which was then the main governing body of horse racing in France. The Prix du Centenaire was run as a limited handicap and contested over 2,100 metres. The prize money was 318,600 francs. In 1935 the race reverted to the title Prix Dollar and returned to its regular distance, 2,200 metres.

For much of World War II, from 1940 to 1943, the Prix Dollar was cancelled. During the remaining wartime years the race was temporarily switched to Tremblay, where it was run over 2,150 metres. The event moved back to Longchamp in 1946.

The distance of the race was cut to 2,000 metres in 1957. For the following two years it was run over 2,250 metres, but in 1960 it returned to 2,000 metres. In 1965 and 1966 the event was transferred to Chantilly. The present distance, 1,950 metres, was introduced in 1969.

In 1986 the Prix Dollar was once again run over 2,000 metres at Chantilly, and it took place on the same day as the Prix du Jockey Club. Upon its return to Longchamp in 1987 the race was moved to late September. It was given its present calendar position, the Saturday of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe weekend, in 1988. The "Arc" itself takes place on the first Sunday in October. Also in 1988 the Prix Dollar opened to three-year-olds, having been restricted to older horses for most of its history beforehand.

Five horses have won the Prix Dollar twice, most recently Touch of Land in 2004 and 2005. The winning time of Touch of Land's first victory set a new record in the race over its present distance – 1m 58.3s.
