Early career
Issaka started playing football at the youth teams of
Asante Kotoko , before he moved toPrampram Mighty Royals FC in Ghana's second division, where he already played for the first team at the tender age of fifteen. He was the playmaker of the Ghanaian under-17 team, called the black starlets, coached bySam Arday , that won theAfrican Under-17 Championship 1995 inMali and theFIFA World Youth Championship in 1995 inEcuador , where Issaka played a major role in winning the cups. Awudu Issaka also took part in the FIFA World Youth Championship 1997 inMalaysia , where Ghana finished on fourth position. He is a current member of the Local Senior National Team. He holds 39 Games and 16 Goals in his Nationalcareer (U-16 ~ A National-Team). Awudu Issaka also took part in the FIFA World Youth Championship 1997 in Malaysia, where Ghana finished on fourth position.International career
In 1995, soon after the FIFA World Youth Championship, Awudu Issaka signed a contract at the Belgian club
RSC Anderlecht , where he mainly played for their youth team. Issaka caught the eye of the French clubAJ Auxerre , in 1996 at a youth tournament. Soon after that he agreed to play for Auxerre, where he played until 1998. In the season of 1998/99 Issaka moved to German Bundesliga clubTSV 1860 Munich , where he played until the 2003/04 season. After that Issaka was looking for a new club and went for trials to clubs like:Arminia Bielefeld , Maccabi Tel Aviv, and other clubs in Malaysia andTunisia , but couldn't land a deal with any of those clubs,due to club to club transfer diffiulties. Therefore he decided to help play for his former club Prampram Mighty Royals FC for the rest of the 2004/05 season. Awudu Issaka later moved toLiberty Professionals FC , and played the 2005/06 season in theGhana Telecom Premier League in Ghana. In July 2006 Issaka joined the newly promoted Ghana Telecom Premier League clubTema Youth . Awudu Issaka finally got listed for the senior local national team the Black Stars and played in 2006 world cup qualifiers.In 2006 Former junior national team star, Awudu Issaka is set to launch his local career with Liberty Professionals or Tema Youth FC when the new season begins.
The player has begun training with Liberty at their Carl Reindorf training grounds and is hoping to hit good form before the league kicks off.
The Dansoman and Tema-based clubs are yet to conclude negotiations with the player on his move to either of the clubs.
He is currently a member of the Senior Local National Team of Ghana set by CAF.
