the Bare-backed Fruit-bat ("Dobsonia moluccense") is a fruit bat in the familyPteropodidae .D. moluccense magna is distinctive as its wings join along the centre of its back rather than its sides giving this bat a ‘hairless’ back. This bat is also unique as it roosts in caves rather than in tree canopies. This species has a mean forearm length of 149 mm, and a mean weight of 374 grams it is one of 8 Pteropodidaes in Australia.
