The 1989 World Sports-Prototype Championship season was the 37th FIA World Sportscar Championship season. It was a series running under the Group C formula, running cars in two classes known as C1 and C2. An invitational GTP class was also run for Mazda. It ran from April 9, 1989 to October 29, 1989, and was comprised of 8 races.
