Ahito (Galactik Football)

Ahito (Galactik Football)

Ahito is one of the main protagonists in the animated series, Galactik Football. He is Thran's twin brother and the team's goalkeeper.

Season 1

Ahito and Thran were brought up by their parents on Akillian and he is an old friend of D'Jok and Micro-Ice. At some point prior to the start of the series, Ahito along with the other six Snow Kids was struck down with a mysterious, self-resolving fever. This fever would later turn out to be the earliest known sign of the effects of the Metaflux on his body.

Ahito is narcoleptic and is on medication to treat this problem. The condition means he is often asleep, even during his matches.

He is recruited by Aarch the original tryouts to be the team goalkeeper. He is the originator of the team name "Snow Kids" and develops the breath of Akillian during the Snow Kids-Rykers home match.

Season 2

At the start of the second season Ahito is mysteriously taken ill, collapsing during training, so that he cannot be roused. He is sent back to Akillian to re-cooperate while his cousin, Yuki takes over his role as goalkeeper for the team.

Frustrated by his own slow recovery, he still accepts Yuki's position on the team with equanimity and there is no conflict between the two over their position in the team. Ahito's return during the second half of the Wambas-Snow Kids match inspired the rest of the team to win in his honour.

Personality

Ahito's messed up sleeping patterns cause him to fall asleep during day, night – and during matches. At one point, he fell asleep during one of the worst times possible - when their opponent was taking a free kick. Despite the way how he shocked the entire team with his sleepiness, he still managed to save the goal at incredible speed, whilst still half asleep.

Aarch doesn't see this as much of a problem and everybody have accepted this as natural for Ahito. Having Thran in defense nearby is supporting for him, especially when Ahito needed his brother the most during the Final match against the Shadows. Having had the same recurring nightmare of his arms vaporising right when the Shadow's would take the chance to score, Ahito's lack of excessive sleep threatened the team's chances of winning. But as Aarch had said before, having Thran nearby to help his brother out was good support and the team was able to get by. In one episode it is also mentioned that Ahito is the only one on the team taking medication for his sleepiness because, as Aarch put it, he sleeps so much that they're almost breaking the rules.

Family and Friends

Both of Ahito's parents appear regularly during Galactik Football and it would seem that he has inherited his sleepyness from his father.

Thran is Ahito's twin brother. Ahito being the younger twin, though continuity errors in the first season confused this matter somewhat. They get along perfectly well with each other and are peaceful brothers who rarely get themselves involved with disputes that happen within the team.

Ahito has been friends with D'Jok and Micro-Ice long before meeting Aarch and joining the team. He gets along well with all of the team members and rarely lets any of them down.

Just like his twin brother and unlike their fellow teammates, Ahito never showed any romantic interest for any of the female character of the show. On one time he even "asked" Thran what would be worse: being injured or having Tia take care of you.

Yuki, is Ahito's younger cousin. Like Thran he is supportive of Yuki and more interested in helping her become a better player than in competing with her.
