M.A. Baby is an Indian politician. He is the Education Minister of Kerala State. He is also a Central Committee Member of Communist Party of India (Marxist). Born on April 5, 1954 to Sri. P. M. Alexander and Smt. Lilly Alexander. Entered politics through Kerala Students Federation. Held responsible positions in Student Federation of India, Democratic Youth Federation of India, and CPI (M). Was imprisoned and tortured during Emergency. Became one of the youngest members of Rajya Sabha at the age of 32. Member of the CPI(M) Central Committee and State Secretariat. Got elected from Kundara. This is his first term as member of Kerala Assembly. He is married to Betty Louis and has a son Ashok Betty NelsonHe completed BA degree course in Political Scie. Held many responsible positionsin Student Federation of India, Democratic Youth Federation of India, and CPI (M).

Member in the Preparatory Committee of World Federation of Democratic Youth in the year 1978Active Participant in the formation of Cuban Solidarity Movement Represented India in the General Assembly of United Nations in the year 1997, Jana Munnetta Yatra which traveled over 500 km by foot. Participated and led many student and youth struggles, including activities against emergency.
