Juan Antonio Señor Gómez (born
26 August 1958 , Madrid) is a former Spanish footballer. During his career, he played forDeportivo Alavés (1978-1981) andReal Zaragoza (1981-1990), and later was the head coach ofMérida UD (1999-2000),UD Salamanca (2000-2001), CD Cartagena (2002-2003) andCD Logroñés (2003-2004).Between 1982 and 1988, he made 41 appearances and scored 6 goals for the
Spain national football team , and was a participant inEuro 84 where Spain was beaten by France in the final and also had a remarkable participation in the1986 FIFA World Cup . He scored the last goal against Malta in the last qualifying game forEuro 84 , where Spain needed to win by 11 goals to qualify. He also won the Spanish Cup orCopa del Rey in 1986, thanks to Ruben Sosa's single goal in a 1-0 victory againstFC Barcelona .He had to retire sooner than expected due to heart disease and currently manages a football campus for children in the Aragonese
Pyrenees .
