In 1999, Drukman received a Ph.D. from
New York University , where he is currently a full-time professor. Drukman spent many years writing for the Arts and Leisure section of "The New York Times ". He wrote "Going Native" which premiered in 2002 at theLong Wharf Theatre inNew Haven, Connecticut . One of his best known works is "Another Fine Mess", a Pulitzer nominee in 2003.Drukman is also the author of two adaptations of plays by
Aleksandr Ostrovsky , titled "Flattery Will Get You" (often translated as "Diary of a Scoundrel") which premiered at Connecticut Repertory Theatre, and "Snowmaiden", which premiered at the Bob Hope Theater inDallas, Texas . In addition, he is an actor who appeared in the 2006 film "East Broadway".Drukman's play "In This Corner" premiered at
The Old Globe Theatre inSan Diego, CA in late 2007. "In This Corner" examines the lives of boxersJoe Louis andMax Schmeling during the time period 1930-1970.
