History and Product Information

ReelWorld began transforming the tired, traditional, formulaic sound of radio jingles in 1994. Steve Thomas and Erik Huber first met while on staff at the Music Source in Seattle. Although their initial relationship bordered upon adversarial (both producers had been in competition for the same Nike spot and their first meeting was at the music pitch for the gig), they soon realized that by joining forces and combining their talents, an unstoppable music production monster would be created!

After a brief honeymoon period spent in Steve's basement apartment, the two budding super-producers emerged with their first collaborative effort - a hip-hop ID jingle package they produced on spec for urban station WPGC in Washington, D.C. With nothing more than an idea for a wholly unique radio ID concept, Steve and Erik had created an ID jingle package based on the sounds, textures and pacing of up-to-the-minute hit music. Thus was born ReelWorld Productions, the imaging world was turned on its ear, and the rest is history!

Today, ReelWorld jingles air on the best radio stations – in the biggest cities - around the world. The list of powerhouse ReelWorld clients is unrivaled and includes Z100/New York, KIIS/Los Angeles, WLIT/Chicago, Radio 538/Netherlands, and Kiss 100/London.

The ReelWorld imaging revolution continued to gather pace in 2006 with the launch of what the company dubbed ‘the ultimate family of production toolkits’ – Production Vault. The original CHR version of Production Vault launched in October and was quickly joined by Production Vault 'AC', 'Country', 'Hot AC', and 'Urban'. September 2008 saw the launch of Production Vault 'News' and Production Vault 'Rock'.

ReelWorld also rolls out a special Production Vault 'Holiday' service to all AC clients during the festive season. Like the radio stations it services – and unlike any other rival products - Production Vault 'AC' effectively 'flips' for the holidays.

The next chapter in ReelWorld's history began in 2008 - ReelWorld ONE is an exciting new jingle service created for CHR, AC, and COUNTRY stations. ReelWorld ONE features monthly jingle updates, monthly workpart updates, monthly seasonal updates, monthly playlist-current updates, and more. Radio stations ordering ReelWorld ONE have the option of having their package delivered with their choice of heritage sonic logo. For CHR, the choice is either KIIS, WXKS, KDWB or WHTZ. AC stations can choose from WLIT, KODA, WJXA, or WLTW. Country stations are offered ReelWorld ONE with either the KILT, KNCI, WCTO, or KKWF sonic logo.

Along with Production Vault, ReelWorld ONE is available to stations on a barter-only basis (in the US) through ReelWorld’s partnership with Premiere Radio Networks. All other regions can order via their local representative.
