ITT (Institute of Travel & Tourism)

The Institute of Travel and Tourism, or the ITT as it is more commonly known, was established back in 1956. It is a professional membership body and aims to develop and maintain professional standards throughout the UK Tourism industry. It also provides its tourism industry members many networking opportunities as well as encouraging students and corporate companies to become members.

Conferences

Throughout the year, the Institute organises a number of events for its members. The highlight being the annual overseas conference held at a different destination each year. Recent overseas conferences include Qatar, Barbados, and in June 2006 the Sultanate of Oman. In 2004, the Institute launched the inauguaral "Aspire Conference" for Travel and Tourism students across the UK. In 2005 the event was staged at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, before moving on to Butlins in Bognor Regis for 2006. The 2007 conference is set to take place at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London - a dual event in cooperation with STEPS (the Spanish Tourism Exchange for Professionals)
