Twmpath

Twmpath

"Twmpath"is a word meaning a hump; once signifying the mound/ hump/ village green upon which the musicians sat and played for the community to dance. But mostly used and a verb (twmpath) to refer to a Welsh barn dance, very similar in spirit to a ceilidh or a fest-noz. The music and dances are predominantly Welsh, but Breton styles are often played as well because of the close cultural and linguistic links between Brittany and Wales.
