registered trademark ofWendy's restaurants, and was used to refer to its now discontinued line of cold sandwiches. Due to poor sales and long preparation times, the product has been dropped. According to the article, the word "Frescata" was coined to bring to mind the word "fresh" even if, as the article suggests, that's not always the case in reality. It is also notable that, purely by accident, the words mean something unintentional in another Mediterranean language,
Modern Greek . The words "fresca scata" (φρέσκα σκατά) mean "fresh shit", and Frescata is easily read as a contraction of this, similar to writing "Freshit" in English.References
