Askos, Sochos

:"Not to be confused with askos (pottery vessel), a kind of pottery vessel."Askos ( _el. Ασκός) is a small mountain village in northern Greece, part of the municipality Sochos. It is located just 60 kilometers away from Thessaloniki.

The village is known for the carnival that it organizes every year to advertise, the wines and cheese that it produces.Also in Askos, there is the historical mountain Tempelis. The football team Of Askos is Makedonikos and its colour is green and white.

Makedonikos most talented player is Balantis Kourouklidis. Some years ago he even played in a german soccer league team in Hanover. In those days his name "White Ronaldinho" was created by the local press. Hanover is still talking of his unincredible talent espacially in scoring and leading his team.
