Stanislav Gustavovich Strumilin (
29 January ,1877 -25 January ,1974 ) was a Sovieteconomist . He played a leading role in the analysis of the planned economy of theSoviet type, including modeling, development of the five year plans and calculation of national income.His particular contributions include the "Strumilin index", a measure of labor productivity, andthe "norm" coefficient, relating to analysis of investment activity.He graduated from
Petrograd Polytechnical Institute in 1914. Until 1917 he worked as asocialist activist. After theOctober Revolution he worked on setting up theSoviet planned economy while he was appointed to a professorship ineconomics at theMoscow State University . In 1931 he became a member of theSoviet Academy of Sciences . Strumilin's educational background was instatistics .Works
