The Lima Warriors are a minor league American football team in Lima, Ohio and currently play in the United States Football Alliance USFA. The Warriors were originally part of the Ohio Valley Football League. During their first season (2001), the team went 3-9. The following year they improved their record to 9-3-1 and made the OVFL playoffs, losing to the Macomb Co. Makos. In 2003, the Warriors ended the season 11-5 including a 1-1 record in the Semi-Pro National Football Tournament. 2004 proved to be Lima's breakout year (14-3) as they won the NFC West Division Championship, NFC Conference Championship, and cruised through the playoffs but they lost the Championship Game to the Hardin Co. (KY) Wolverines. The Warriors played the 2005 and 2006 season in the MLFA and ended those season 11-2 and 10-2 respectfully, and adding two more Division Championships to the trophy case. All four losses came at the hands of the Grand Rapids (MI) Thunder, two being in the Conference Championship game. In 2007 the Warriors finally reached the promised land, winning their first championship. Anchored by a defense that shutout 7 of Lima's 13 opponents and held league opponents to just 57 yards rushing all season. Also featuring an offense that averaged almost 45 points a game, the Warriors cruised to a 13-0 record topped off by a 42-0 defeat of the Beaver County Vipers (PA) in the United States Football Alliance title game. Lima was not done as they accepted an invitation to the 2007 Minor League Football News 1AA National Championship game. The Warriors faced off against the Mid Ohio Jets, champions of the Mid Ohio Football League. The game was held in Ashland, Ohio with the Warriors winning 17-13, and being crowned National Champions, with a perfect record of 14-0. The Warriors played the 2001 and 2002 seasons at Lima Central Catholic high school. They played their home games during the 2003 through 2006 seasons at War Memorial Stadium in Ada, Ohio; but starting in 2007 they played in Lima Stadium . The Lima Warriors have amassed an all time regular season record of 56-14-1, an all time overall record of 72-25-1, a playoff record of 12-5-0 and have lost a total of 9 home games in the history of their franchise.

The Warriors are one of two teams in the USFA that broadcast their games over the internet. All games can be heard live or on an archive basis by visiting www.limawarriors.com. Former Lima radio personality Aaron Matthews handles the play by play for the broadcasts. Matthews is also host to "Warriors Talk" which is a weekly show with head coach John Parkins and other members of the Warriors Organization. This show can also be found on the teams official website, www.limawarriors.com.
