Michael Salfino is a newspaper columnist who gives fantasy sport advice.[1] Salfino uses sabermetric analysis, which focuses on statistics that best demonstrate the core skills that provide the foundation for future performance. He believes that looking beyond conventional statistics allows for better performance projections in both baseball and football.
Salfino's writing is featured in the Wall Street Journal and nationwide throughout the Comcast SportsNet network and he regularly offers analysis on New York professional baseball and football for the website of the primarily New York Mets-owned SNY.tv. Those sites along with newspapers in other markets offer daily fantasy baseball and football rankings and analysis featuring Salfino and other writers employed through his family-owned company, Meadowlands Media Group.
Salfino's work has appeared in print in newspapers nationwide, including The Rocky Mountain News, The Boston Herald, The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, and The Birmingham News.
Salfino's work is also featured on RotoWire. He has been a frequent guest on XM Satellite Radio on the RotoWire Fantasy Sports Hour with host Chris Liss.
While attending William Paterson University, née College, in the early 1980s, Salfino broadcast sports on the campus radio station, WPSC-FM.
