- Jacob Casson Geiger
A native of Alexandria, Rapides Parish, in the
U.S. state ofLouisiana , Jacob Casson Geiger (18 November 1885 - 07 November 1981) graduate of Yale and member of known society Skull and Bones, and for many years inSan Francisco andOakland , California, city director ofpublic health and the 1935 president of the San Francisco Medical Society. For his research in public-health medicine (e.g.,malaria andbotulism ), he received numerous awards from the U.S. and foreign governments as well as several honorary academic degrees. Among others he was made Officer of the Legion of Honor (France), Commander of the Order of the Jade (China) and Commander of the Order of Quissam Aloute Cherifien (Morocco).References
