Walter D. Wetherell is an American writer who has published more than a dozen books of fiction and nonfiction under the name W. D. Wetherell. He has also written essays and travel pieces for
The New York Times , theBoston Review , and other periodicals. Several of his nonfiction books are about rivers and fly-fishing.Wetherell has received two fellowships from the
National Endowment for the Arts , twoO. Henry Awards , theDrue Heinz Literature Prize , and, most recently, the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ Strauss Living Award.
