The Bible Missionary Church is a
Christian denomination that is part of theConservative Holiness Movement . Its unofficial beginning was a 5 week tent meeting held onSeptember 8 ,1955 . The body included roughly 150 individuals and was led by Rev. Glenn Griffith. The denomination itself was founded shortly after with a total of 126 members. Methodism with more recent ties to theChurch of the Nazarene . The Bible Missionary Church teaches that believers are cleansed from inner rebellion to God by a second crisis experience referred to as entire sanctification. In addition, the BMC believes that believers are to live separated lives as evidenced in dress, adornment, and behavior.The Bible Missionary Church's institutions include Bible Missionary Institute, a 4-year Bible college in Rock Island, Illinois; a Bible college in Houston, Texas; and a boarding school for at-risk children.
The denomination has experienced international growth throughout its roughly 50 years of existence and presently has between ten and fifteen thousand members.
