Frederick "Freddy" DeMann is a film producer, music executive, and co-founder of
Maverick Records . He is also the former manager of American pop superstar Madonna, who was his client from 1983 until 1997. He also helpedCanadian singerFrance Joli andMichael Jackson to international superstardom. He co-foundedMaverick Records with Madonna andTime Warner . WithHBO , he produced "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers ", winning theBFCA (Critics’ Choice Award) and theGolden Globe Award. Broadway productions include "Proof", "Topdog/Underdog ", "Take Me Out", and "Spring Awakening"; each play won theTony Award ,Pulitzer Prize , or both. Also: "Caroline, or Change" and "Jumpers".DeMann was bought out of Maverick Records in 1998 for a reported US$20 million. DeMann lives in
Los Angeles with his wife of 37 years and has two daughters.He co-founded Maverick Records which released the biggest selling debut album of all time,
