The Bay of Plenty Stags were a New Zealand rugby league club representing the Bay of Plenty region in the Lion Red Cup competition. The club existed from 1994 to 1996, before folding along with the competition. This side was coached by Lawrence Brydon.
Resurrected Stags
In 2008, a new Bay of Plenty provincial side will compete in the National Provincial Competition, also using the name of Bay of Plenty Stags. Former Kiwis coach Graeme Lowe is the coach of the side for 2008. [http://stuff.co.nz/4576673a10713.html Graham Lowe back coaching Sunday, 08 June 2008]
