Yumi Makihasi

Yumi Makihasi (January 29 1957 - ) is the senior coach (sensei) of Karate International Japan. He was once the coach of the National Japanese Karate team, as well as running several non-government Karate and Jujuitsu clubs throughout Japan.

The "Makihashi Kakoi" (literally: House of Makihashi) was built in 1999 in Okinawa, Japan, as a base for the many clubs run by Makihashi.

He is married to Midori Makihasi and has four children.
