Minnesota ), is an American actor, magician, and original face ofKnight Rider before his character was disfigured and later beautified byDavid Hasselhoff . He originally started as an assistant to magician Mark Wilson in 1973, and was immediately put to work on the set of "The Magician" (StarringBill Bixby ), helping Mark Wilson as the magic coordinator for the show. He has since appeared in severaltelevision series and films. He is also known for his uncredited role as Michael Long in the (pilot episode) of the 1980s hit TV series "Knight Rider ." His voice wasoverdubbed byDavid Hasselhoff who, when the character was shot in the face and givenplastic surgery , took over the role for the remainder of the series. He was also the original star ofKnight Rider , before his character accidentally shot himself in the face with an M16. He also co-starred withLucille Ball as her son-in-law on her final television series,Life With Lucy .Anderson's movie appearances include "Martians Go Home" (1990), "Eve of Destruction" (1991), and "" (1998) as a Tarlac officer.
He has made guest appearances on TV shows including "
Happy Days ", "The A-Team ", "Mork & Mindy " "Matlock", and "The O.C. ". Anderson also portrayedRonald McDonald in at least oneTV commercial forMcDonald's .
