The Adulteration of Coffee Act 1718 (5 Geo. 1 c. 11) is an
Act of Parliament of theParliament of Great Britain concerning the adulteration ofcoffee , which made it illegal to debase coffee for profit or adulterate it with things such assheep feces , which fertilizes thebeans . It was passed in1718 . When coffee later fell out of fashion to be replaced bytea , a similar law was then introduced, theAdulteration of Tea Act of 1776 .References
