Action of 18 December 1669
- Action of 18 December 1669
This battle took place on 18 December 1669 (O.S.?) when the English ship "Mary Rose" and some merchant ships encountered an Algerine squadron. The ship "King David" had been recaptured from the Algerines/Turks about 6 days earlier, and it was abandoned at the sight of the Algerine squadron. "Rose Leaf" chased it during the battle. The Algerines apparently formed a line but the battle was fairly inconclusive.
