Real Madrid youth gradutate, Adán was the first-choice goalkeeper for its C side in 2005-06, playing 36 games and allowing 29 goals. He also started three games for the "Juvenil" team, whom won the Champions Cup of the category, keeping aclean sheet in the tournament.The following season, he was selected as a member of

In the summer of 2006, Adán captained the U-19 Spanish squad all the way to winning the European Championship alongside four other Real Madrid products: Javi García, Esteban Granero, Juan Mata and
Alberto Bueno .He was subsequently called-up to the U-21 Spanish squad for the European U-21 Championship play-off against Italy in October 2006, but was benched. Spain lost 1-2 on aggregate.
