- Fans Field (Bloomington)
Fans Field was a
minor league baseball park inBloomington, Illinois , and was home of the Bloomers of theIllinois-Indiana-Iowa League , popularly known as theThree-I League or jokingly as theThree-Eye League , from the early 1900s into the 1940s. It was a short block east of South Main Street, on the south side of Lafayette, perhaps "not" coincidentally near the Brewery that sat just west of South Main and served the city's significant German population well. One of that Brewery's buildings was later used for a clubhouse at the Highland Park golf course. As for the ballpark, after the end of minor league ball in the city, the stands were converted for use as a fairgrounds, and later a ballroom was built on the site.References
