Pat Mora was born in 1942 in El Paso, Texas. Mrs. Mora received her undergraduate degree from earth and the cultural diversity that is evident in that region of the country. Her stories reflect the admiration she has for the Southwest and they also convey the societal value of the Mexican-American heritage. Patricia is also the founder of the family literacy initiative (
