Itala is a "comune" (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 180 km east of Palermo and about 20 km southwest of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,687 and an area of 10.7 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.]

The municipality of Itala contains the "frazioni" (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Marina di Itàla, Casalello, Borgo, Mannello, Quartiere del Medico (anche detto Quartarello), and Croce.
