Alan Neilson (born on 26 September 1972 in Wegberg, Germany) is a professional footballer who has played professionally for many years. His most recent contract was with Conference National side Salisbury City who he left at the end of the 2006/07 season when they gained promotion from the Conference South

A former Wales international, Alan Neilson started his professional football career with Newcastle United back in the early 1990s as a trainee. He made 35 first team appearances before moving south to Southampton.

During his time with Southampton he played 42 games and scored 13. Neilson played at the Saints for nearly three years before moving to Fulham where he joined his former manager Kevin Keegan at the club. He signed for £225,000 from Southampton.

Neilson had more than his fair share of injury problems in his first season with Fulham after a promising start to his Craven Cottage career. In October 2001, Neilson moved to Grimsby Town, but played just eight times before being released in February 2002.
