St. Michaels High School,
Patna was established in 1858 by the Congregation of Irish Christian Brothers in the city of Patna. The school is amongst the oldest missionary schools in Eastern India. It is situated on the banks of the riverGanges . The control of the school was passed on to the missionaries of the Jesuit Society orSociety of Jesus of the American Chicago Province, some time in 1968. The Jesuit Fathers had been running Patna's oldest Jesuit school, the St. Xaviers and both the schools functioned at their best under the guidance of Late Father Gordon Edmund Murphy SJ (died 1972, Patna). The School changed from ICSE Board to CBSE Board in the year 1988.Notable Alumni
