Bloomfield, Connecticut , broadcasting on 88.9 FM. WJMJ started broadcasting in 1976 and operates out of the Seminary building. The tower is located on top of Johnnycake Mountain inBurlington, Connecticut . The programming consist of classical, easy listening and religious material along with ABC News. WJMJ has translators on 107.1 inNew Haven, Connecticut and on 93.1 inHamden, Connecticut . JMJ stands for Jesus Mary Joseph.When WJMJ first went on the air the studios were located in Glastonbury, CT. They moved to Bloomfield in the early eighties. A fire tower originally stood where the WJMJ radio tower now stands.
WJMJ replaced most of their non-Catholic programming in June, 2008. “Festival of Faith”, the 14 hour block of radio shows on Sunday which ranged from short inspirational spots to recorded worship services or talk shows produced by an assortment of area Protestant and Orthodox churches was replaced beginning June 1 by programming from the EWTN Global Catholic network. The new slogan for the station is “Catholic Radio – Where Faith Meets Life”.
