Plot summary

After the apparent death of Valzaan, Benjiah Andira the prophet of Allfather continues to battle Malek's armies. Aljeron Balinor was asked by Valzaan before he was killed to search for Sulmandir, the father of the dragons, who was thought dead. after going to Col Marina Aljeron sails north to Avram Gol, while the rest of the escapees of Shalin Bel head south for Cimaris Rul. With Aljeron are his friends Saegan, Evrim, and two Great Bear. In Col Marena they meet their old acquaintance from the "Beyond the Summerland" days: Synoki, and an apparent friend of his named Cinjan. Cinjan, for a unknown reason, wants to kill Aljeron. Cinjan tries to kill him when he is sleeping, but instead, Aljeron kills Cinjan in self-defense.
